Junior Excellence Program

Swimming Australia is proud to be continuing the Australian Junior Excellence Program into 2012. The Australian Junior Excellence Program (JX) recognises rewards and encourages junior swimmers who, through their development of aquatic skills and fitness, achieve a high standard of swimming excellence.

2011/12 JX criteria and time standards have been announced:

2010/11 JX criteria and time standards:

The st2 Team Manager file below contains the JX, YPS, Age and Open standards for the 2010-2011 season. These files can be used to identify your club members’ current JX or YPS standard based on results already achieved this season.

Download the st2 file here - updated 24/8/10 (changes made to Boys 16yr 1500 Free, Girls 14yr 100 Fly, Girls 14yr 400IM)

Under the Program, swimmers aged from 9 to 13 years who accomplish times set by Swimming Australia qualify at Gold, Silver, Bronze or Green standard, depending on their best performance/s during the season. For doing so, qualifiers receive special recognition by way of:

  • a JX certificate of achievement signed by the National Youth Coach and the captain of the Australian Swim Team!

  • publication of their name on this website

Australia is one of the top swimming nations in the world and by achieving the Green, Bronze, Silver or Gold JX standard, junior swimmers are on the pathway to international success.
